Alumni in Civic Engagement Program (ACE)

ACE is a by-alumni program designed to provide continuing education for CLP alumni in the form of service-learning projects. This service learning program allows participants to learn and develop through active participation in thoughtfully organized service experiences. Before projects begin, facilitators lead goal-setting sessions. During the project, facilitators provide structured time for participants to reflect on leadership skills used in the project. Finally, after a project is complete, there is a reflection meeting to evaluate the experience.

Examples of 2006 ACE projects include:

· ACE conducted focus groups to evaluate the 2006 API Leadership Conference and offer feedback for future planning.

· ACE members served on the Planning Committee for the Asian Counseling and Referral Service’s 2006 Walk for Rice. This event raises funds for the ACRS Food Bank, which is the third most-used food bank in King County and the only food bank to provide culturally appropriate food to the API community. ACE members conducted outreach to recruit teams and also organized an API and friends team (pictured).
